IDF chosen as Missouri Exporter of the Year

Governors Conference

(Springfield, MO. October 12, 2010) – International Dehydrated Foods, Inc. (IDF™) has been named Exporter of the Year by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. The award, which was presented to IDF at the 52nd annual Missouri Governor’s Conference in St. Louis last month, is said to be one of the top honors given by the state.

IDF was selected for the award because of its increasing success with exports. Today, a quarter of the company’s total sales are due to exports. In 2009, IDF recorded a 7.5 percent increase in exports, and its exports are up 30 percent to date in 2010. All of this growth in exports comes despite the sluggish national and global economies. Currently IDF ships their varied portfolio of ingredients to 33 countries around the world.

Kurt Hellweg, IDF president and chief executive officer, accepted the Exporter of the Year award on behalf of the company’s 200 associates at its Monett manufacturing facility. The USDA inspected facility was nominated for the state honor by the Monett Chamber of Commerce, which provides IDF with certificates of origin for its exports on an almost daily basis.

“The award is made possible by the efforts of our plant and corporate employees” said Mike Scabarozi, Vice President of Manufacturing for IDF, who oversees the Monett plant.  “Meeting the needs of our international customers requires a focused effort to the details required for international sales.”
